TERMS & CONDITIONS

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Welcome to Virgin Hair Directory.

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of VirginHairDirectory.com, including its directory, reviews, ratings, accounts, articles, guides, photographs, search features, vendor information and any other services or content made available through the website.

Virgin Hair Directory is a global directory and review platform. The website may be accessed by users and may contain information about hair vendors located in the United Kingdom, Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia and other countries worldwide.

By accessing or using Virgin Hair Directory, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms & Conditions, you should not use the website.

1. Who operates Virgin Hair Directory

Virgin Hair Directory is operated by:

Mo Cameron
Trading as Virgin Hair Directory

Location: Hackney, London, United Kingdom
Email: info@virginhairdirectory.com
Website: VirginHairDirectory.com

2. About Virgin Hair Directory

Virgin Hair Directory is an independent hair-vendor directory, review and information website.

The website is designed to help users discover, research, compare and review hair vendors and their products and services.

Virgin Hair Directory may provide features including vendor listings, search and filtering, customer reviews, ratings, vendor comparisons, articles, guides, featured vendors, advertising, sponsored placements, discount information, affiliate links and other hair-related information.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Virgin Hair Directory does not manufacture, supply or sell the hair products listed on the website.

3. Worldwide use of the website

Virgin Hair Directory is operated from the United Kingdom but may be accessed worldwide.

Users are responsible for complying with laws that apply to them in their own country.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce any consumer, privacy or other statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded under the law applicable to a user.

Where a provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory law that applies to you, the mandatory law will take priority to the extent of that conflict.

4. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms apply whenever you use Virgin Hair Directory, including when you browse the website, search the directory, create an account, submit a review or rating, upload content, report a review, contact us or interact with any other website feature.

The following policies also form part of the rules governing use of Virgin Hair Directory where applicable:

Privacy Policy
Cookie Policy
Review Policy
Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

Where there is a specific rule concerning reviews, the Review Policy should be read together with these Terms.

5. Eligibility and accounts

Some features may require a registered account.

When creating or using an account, you must provide information that is accurate and must not deliberately impersonate another person.

You are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for activity carried out through your account.

If you believe somebody has accessed your account without permission, you should contact Virgin Hair Directory as soon as reasonably possible.

You must not create multiple accounts for the purpose of manipulating reviews, ratings, rankings or other website features.

Where age or legal-capacity requirements apply in your country, you must meet those requirements or have any consent or authority required by law before creating an account or submitting content.

6. Hair vendor directory

Virgin Hair Directory creates and maintains hair-vendor listings.

Listings may contain information including a vendor’s name, website, social-media accounts, general location, hair categories, products, services, delivery information, business information, reviews and ratings.

Information may be obtained from the vendor, public websites, publicly accessible social-media profiles, public business information, users and other lawful sources.

The presence of a vendor within the directory does not give that vendor ownership or editorial control over its Virgin Hair Directory listing.

7. Directory information

We aim to provide useful and reasonably accurate directory information.

However, information relating to independent businesses may change without our knowledge.

Products may change. Prices may change. Delivery services may change. Websites may change. Businesses may cease trading or alter their policies.

Users should therefore verify information that is important to a purchasing decision directly with the relevant vendor before placing an order.

Where we become aware of materially inaccurate information, we may correct or update it.

8. Being listed does not mean a vendor is endorsed

The presence of a vendor on Virgin Hair Directory does not automatically mean that Virgin Hair Directory recommends, guarantees or endorses that vendor.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not guarantee a vendor’s products, customer service, delivery, product authenticity, financial position or future performance.

Words such as Featured or Sponsored, where used, refer to promotional placement and do not mean that Virgin Hair Directory guarantees the business.

9. Purchases from hair vendors

Purchases made through or following links from Virgin Hair Directory are normally transactions between the customer and the independent vendor.

Unless Virgin Hair Directory expressly identifies itself as the seller, Virgin Hair Directory is not the seller of the hair, wigs, extensions or other products concerned.

The vendor is responsible for its own products, prices, orders, delivery, returns, refunds, warranties and customer service, subject to the law that applies to that transaction.

If a dispute concerns an order placed directly with a vendor, the customer should normally contact that vendor.

Nothing in these Terms removes any rights a customer has against a vendor under applicable law.

10. Reviews must be genuine

Reviews submitted to Virgin Hair Directory must represent genuine experiences.

You must not submit a review for a purchase or experience that did not happen.

Fake positive reviews and fake negative reviews are prohibited.

Users must not create false accounts, impersonate customers, copy reviews, submit fabricated experiences or coordinate reviews for the purpose of manipulating a vendor’s rating.

Our complete rules are contained in the Virgin Hair Directory Review Policy.

11. Review verification

Virgin Hair Directory may ask a reviewer to provide reasonable evidence confirming that a review relates to a genuine transaction or experience.

Evidence may include an invoice, receipt, order confirmation, transaction confirmation, delivery information, relevant correspondence, packaging, photographs or other reasonable evidence.

Where appropriate, a review may be given a Verified Purchase status after sufficient purchase evidence has been checked.

A Verified Purchase label confirms only that reasonable evidence of the relevant purchase was checked. It does not mean Virgin Hair Directory guarantees every statement or opinion contained in the review.

12. Reviews that cannot be authenticated

If we reasonably request verification and sufficient authenticity cannot be established, we may hold the review, decline publication, temporarily remove it while it is investigated or remove it following an investigation.

A failure to produce an old receipt or invoice does not automatically establish that a review is fake.

Moderation decisions are made using the information reasonably available to us.

13. Positive and negative reviews

Virgin Hair Directory does not remove a genuine review simply because it is negative.

Positive and negative reviews are subject to our review standards.

A vendor’s disagreement with criticism does not automatically make a review false.

Likewise, a highly positive review may still be investigated if there are reasonable concerns about its authenticity.

UK law specifically prohibits misleading publication of reviews, including suppressing negative reviews while publishing positive ones, and requires review publishers to take reasonable and proportionate steps against fake or concealed incentivised reviews. Legislation.gov.uk

14. Images submitted with reviews

Images submitted as part of a review must genuinely relate to the reviewer’s experience.

Users must not submit another customer’s photograph as their own.

Users must not submit vendor promotional photographs, stock images or copied online images and falsely represent them as photographs of their own purchase.

15. AI-generated and manipulated review evidence

AI-generated images must not be submitted as genuine photographic evidence of a purchase, product or customer experience.

Images must not be materially manipulated to misrepresent matters such as the hair’s length, colour, texture, density, fullness, condition, lace, ends, shedding, tangling or quality.

Normal actions such as cropping, rotating or hiding private information are permitted where they do not materially alter what the image shows.

Artificial intelligence may be used for ordinary spelling or grammar assistance, but it must not be used to invent a fictional purchase, customer experience, complaint or testimonial.

16. Incentivised reviews

A reviewer must disclose any material incentive connected with a review.

This may include money, refunds, gifts, free products, special discounts, store credit or another benefit provided specifically in connection with leaving the review.

Reviews must not falsely appear to be independent where a relevant commercial relationship exists.

Comparable rules exist in major markets. The US Federal Trade Commission prohibits specified fake or false reviews and compensation conditioned on particular review sentiment, while Australian consumer guidance states that fake or misleading reviews and the suppression of genuine negative reviews can breach consumer law. Federal Trade Commission

17. Vendors must not manipulate reviews

Vendors and people acting on their behalf must not submit fake customer reviews, pay for fabricated reviews, impersonate customers, arrange fake negative reviews against competitors or use multiple accounts to manipulate ratings.

Vendors must not attempt to obtain preferential review treatment because they advertise with Virgin Hair Directory.

Canada’s Competition Bureau similarly identifies fake reviews presented as genuine independent experiences as potentially misleading conduct. competition-bureau.canada.ca

18. Moderation of user content

Virgin Hair Directory may moderate content submitted by users.

Moderation may involve automated tools, manual review or a combination of both.

We may consider factors including authenticity, account activity, duplication, suspicious patterns, conflicts of interest, copied material, AI-generated material, misleading images, incentives, harassment, spam, illegality and compliance with these Terms and our Review Policy.

We may refuse publication, restrict visibility, redact limited information, temporarily suspend content, remove content or restrict an account where reasonably necessary.

For users to whom the EU Digital Services Act applies, that legislation requires intermediary-service terms to explain restrictions and content-moderation policies in clear language. EUR-Lex

19. Reviews under investigation

A review may be temporarily withheld or removed from public display while an authenticity, legal or policy concern is investigated.

We may contact the reviewer or vendor and request further information.

A temporary investigation does not necessarily mean that we have concluded that a review is false.

20. Reporting reviews or other content

If you believe a review or other content is fake, unlawful, infringes your rights or breaches these Terms, you may contact:

info@virginhairdirectory.com

Please identify the content and explain the concern clearly.

Providing supporting evidence may help us investigate.

Reporting content does not guarantee that it will be removed.

21. Serious factual allegations

Users should take particular care when making serious allegations involving matters such as fraud, theft, counterfeiting, criminal conduct or deliberate deception.

We may request supporting evidence before publishing or continuing to publish serious factual allegations.

We may temporarily restrict such content while it is investigated.

22. Prohibited content

You must not submit content that is deliberately false, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, unlawful, malicious, defamatory, privacy-infringing, copyright-infringing or designed to manipulate the review system.

You must not publish private passwords, financial credentials, another person’s private home address or other information that you do not have a lawful basis to disclose.

Spam, malware, malicious links and attempts to compromise the website are prohibited.

23. Content you submit

You remain responsible for content you submit to Virgin Hair Directory.

You must have the rights or permissions necessary to submit photographs, text and other material.

You retain ownership of intellectual property that belongs to you.

By submitting content for publication, you give Virgin Hair Directory a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format, resize, distribute and publish that content as reasonably necessary to operate and promote Virgin Hair Directory.

You also permit us to moderate, redact or remove content in accordance with these Terms, our policies and applicable law.

This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to Virgin Hair Directory.

24. Intellectual property belonging to Virgin Hair Directory

Unless otherwise stated, original branding, written content, graphics, designs, layouts and other original materials created for Virgin Hair Directory belong to Virgin Hair Directory or are used under licence.

You may use the website for ordinary personal browsing and research.

You must not copy, republish, sell, systematically extract or commercially reproduce substantial portions of Virgin Hair Directory content without permission, except where applicable law expressly permits that use.

25. Vendor names and trade marks

Third-party vendor names, logos and trade marks remain the property of their respective owners.

Displaying a vendor’s name or mark for identification within a directory listing does not mean that the vendor owns, controls or endorses Virgin Hair Directory.

26. Copyright complaints

If you believe material on Virgin Hair Directory infringes copyright or another intellectual-property right, contact:

info@virginhairdirectory.com

Please identify the material, where it appears and the basis of your claim.

We may request further information before making a decision.

27. Featured vendors, advertising and sponsorship

Virgin Hair Directory may accept advertising, sponsorship and payments for featured placement.

Paid placement does not purchase a better review rating.

A paying vendor is not entitled to removal of genuine negative reviews, favourable moderation or artificial improvement of review scores.

Where legally required, commercial or sponsored content will be identified so that users can distinguish advertising from independent editorial or customer-review content.

28. Affiliate links

Virgin Hair Directory may use affiliate links.

Where an affiliate arrangement applies, Virgin Hair Directory may receive a commission or other benefit if a user follows a link and completes a qualifying purchase or action.

Where required, the commercial nature of such links will be disclosed.

An affiliate relationship does not give a vendor control over independent customer reviews.

29. Search results and ranking

Virgin Hair Directory may organise and display listings using factors such as search terms, categories, filters, location information, relevance, ratings, review information, listing completeness, recency and promotional placement.

The way listings are displayed may change as the website develops.

Where a placement is sponsored or paid and the law requires disclosure, it will be identified accordingly.

If automated recommendation or ranking systems become subject to a legal requirement to disclose their main parameters, Virgin Hair Directory will provide the required information.

EU rules contain specific transparency requirements for online platforms that use recommender systems. EUR-Lex

30. Articles and guides

Virgin Hair Directory may publish general hair-related articles, buying guides, comparisons and educational material.

This content is provided for general information.

It should not be treated as professional medical, legal, financial or other regulated advice.

Where professional advice is appropriate, users should obtain advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

31. External websites

Virgin Hair Directory may link to vendor websites, social-media services, retailers and other independent websites.

We do not control independent third-party websites.

Their own terms, privacy policies, purchasing conditions and practices apply when you use them.

The presence of an external link does not automatically mean Virgin Hair Directory endorses everything provided or stated on that website.

32. Privacy

Virgin Hair Directory processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we process it, the lawful bases relied upon, retention, international transfers and users’ data-protection rights.

33. Cookies

Virgin Hair Directory may use cookies and similar technologies.

Further information about the technologies used and the choices available to visitors is provided through our Cookie Policy and cookie controls.

34. Website security

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, another user’s account, administrative systems, servers, databases or restricted areas.

You must not introduce malware, deliberately overload the service, carry out unauthorised vulnerability testing or attempt to bypass security restrictions.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, users or third parties.

35. Automated access and scraping

You must not use automated systems to scrape, reproduce or systematically extract substantial parts of the Virgin Hair Directory database or original content for commercial reuse without our permission, except where such activity cannot lawfully be restricted.

Ordinary search-engine indexing and other authorised technical access are not prohibited by this clause.

36. Suspension or termination of accounts

We may warn, restrict, suspend or terminate an account where we reasonably believe there has been serious or repeated misuse.

This may include fraud, review manipulation, impersonation, security threats, harassment or repeated breaches of these Terms or the Review Policy.

Where appropriate, we may investigate before making a final decision.

37. Website availability

We aim to maintain a functional website, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The website may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, technical faults, software updates, security incidents, hosting issues or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Features may be added, removed or modified as Virgin Hair Directory develops.

38. Third-party products and services

Virgin Hair Directory is not responsible for performing a contract entered into directly between a user and an independent vendor.

The relevant vendor remains responsible for products and services it supplies, subject to applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibility that Virgin Hair Directory itself has under mandatory law for its own acts or omissions.

39. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms removes mandatory rights available to you under applicable consumer law.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Virgin Hair Directory is not responsible for losses caused solely by the acts or omissions of an independent vendor, or for a vendor’s failure to fulfil an independent transaction with you.

We are not responsible for information that becomes inaccurate because a third-party vendor changed its products, prices, policies or services without notifying us, provided that this does not remove any responsibility we may have where applicable law requires otherwise.

UK consumer law provides that unfair consumer terms are not binding and that mandatory consumer rights cannot simply be excluded through contractual wording. Legislation.gov.uk

40. Business users

If you use Virgin Hair Directory on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

Businesses using paid advertising, sponsorship or promotional services may also be subject to separate commercial terms.

Nothing in these Terms gives a vendor the right to interfere with independent review moderation.

41. Paid services

Virgin Hair Directory may introduce paid services including featured placements, sponsorship, advertising, promotional packages and other commercial services.

Where a paid service is offered, material information about the service, price, duration and any other applicable conditions will be provided before the relevant transaction is completed.

Additional contractual terms may apply.

42. International users and local mandatory rights

These Terms are designed for users worldwide.

Different countries may give consumers or users rights that cannot legally be waived through website terms.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to override those mandatory rights.

In particular, users in the European Union or European Economic Area may have rights under applicable EU and national consumer, digital-services and privacy legislation.

Users in the United States may have rights under federal and state law.

Users in Canada may have rights under federal and provincial law.

Users in Australia may have rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Users elsewhere may have equivalent mandatory protections under their local law.

Where those rules apply to Virgin Hair Directory, these Terms should be interpreted consistently with them.

43. EU and EEA users

Where EU law applies to Virgin Hair Directory, we will apply applicable requirements relating to transparency, content moderation, illegal-content reporting, advertising and user rights.

The EU Digital Services Act requires covered intermediary services to explain content-moderation restrictions in their terms and provide electronic points of contact, with additional requirements applying depending on the nature and size of the service. EUR-Lex

Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory rights available to EU or EEA consumers.

44. United States users

For users in the United States, nothing in these Terms is intended to remove rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal or state law.

Virgin Hair Directory’s review rules are also intended to prohibit practices such as fabricated reviews and undisclosed review manipulation.

The US Federal Trade Commission’s rule on consumer reviews prohibits specified fake reviews and certain deceptive review practices. Federal Trade Commission

45. Canadian users

For users in Canada, nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable federal or provincial law.

Virgin Hair Directory prohibits fake or misleading reviews and undisclosed manipulation.

The Canadian Competition Bureau states that false or misleading representations and deceptive online review practices can fall within the Competition Act. competition-bureau.canada.ca

46. Australian users

For users in Australia, nothing in these Terms excludes guarantees, rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under Australian law.

Virgin Hair Directory’s policy against fabricated and misleading reviews is consistent with Australian Competition and Consumer Commission guidance that businesses must not create or arrange fake or misleading reviews and should not suppress genuine negative reviews. ACCC

47. Governing law

Virgin Hair Directory is operated from England.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory laws applicable to a user require otherwise.

If you are a consumer outside England and Wales, you may also benefit from mandatory protections available under the law of the country in which you live.

Nothing in this clause is intended to deprive a consumer of a mandatory right to bring proceedings in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable law.

48. Changes to these Terms

Virgin Hair Directory may update these Terms where reasonably necessary.

This may happen when website features change, new services are introduced, our business model changes, security requirements change, applicable law changes or regulatory guidance changes.

The latest version will display the date it was last updated.

Where a material change affects an existing contractual relationship and the law requires notice, appropriate notice will be provided.

49. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary.

The remaining provisions will continue to apply where legally possible.

50. No waiver

If Virgin Hair Directory does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not automatically mean that we have waived the right to enforce it later.

51. Complaints

If you have a complaint about Virgin Hair Directory, contact:

info@virginhairdirectory.com

If your complaint relates to a review, identify the review concerned.

If it relates to a vendor listing, identify the vendor.

If it concerns personal information, state that it is a data-protection complaint.

If it concerns copyright or another intellectual-property right, identify the content concerned and explain your rights.
